Do your cordon off idea with a net (put food in it... make him come to the food)... it may take a couple of days, but you'll get him.

Anton I just went through this with a YS Clown, I tried everything I could think of and nothing, H-E-double hocky sticks I almost disassemble half my aquascape and still couldn't catch... I forgot the most simple thing:

1. Turn Lights Off for the Night

2. Next morning around 0600 I turned On all my lights and he was stunned, so I pushed him with my finger until he was cleared and scooped him up with the net...

VOILA!!! He was removed after 3 nights of trying everything I could of think of.

Good Luck and happy fishing!!!

Actually rafs idea will work with clowns becuase they actually sleep... the tangs do not so it won't work with them...

try the food idea.

I don't think sleep matters, put you in a room for 8 hours without a hint of light and all of the sudden when least expected you get the whole room light up with stadium lights full blast you will be stunned and disoriented for a little while giving anyone the advantage of jumping, gaging and removing you from the room before you realize what is really going on.

I don't think raff is talking about catching a fish anymore, more like a full on shock and awe situation

I can't take any of your post seriously with that aweful avitar. I couldn't even read what this thread was about other than the title. Do you hate us?

I've caught many tangs with big glass mayonaise jars(I think they are gallon size). I make sure it is crystal clean. Then I put a piece of romaine lettuce inside and put in tank. As soon as tang goes inside I take the net and cover the opening . Takes 15 min. to 30 min. I've caught many tangs like that.

Anton,

I actually have been looking to get a Powder Brown Tang, so if by PBT that is what you mean, I would gladly take him off your hands. If he is a blue, then that is another story.
