altezza November 19, 2006 November 19, 2006 I got a 75gal with a 25gal sump...this tank is located on the second floor..and i was wondering with all the weight of water, rocks, sand, canopy, stand...will my floor be ok with this weight? I believed i read it RC that 1 gal of water = 8.5lb

Gadgets November 19, 2006 November 19, 2006 Your fine. I have mine on the third floor if you count the basement...
jason the filter freak November 19, 2006 November 19, 2006 little late responding here but you're certianly fine
YBeNormal November 19, 2006 November 19, 2006 Yes, you should be fine provided the floor and floor joists are in good condition and built to code. It is best to place the tank along a load bearing wall, preferably straddling several joists rather than in the middle of the room or in areas where the floor joists run parallel to the long side of the tank (front/back in your case).
