Must-See Exhibits at the Aquarium of the Pacific?

I'm heading to the Aquarium of the Pacific this week on a bit of a last-minute trip. Ideally, I’ll have time for a relaxed visit, but depending on how travel goes, I might only have time for a quicker walk-through.

 

If you’ve been recently, I’d really appreciate any tips on must-see exhibits or highlights that I shouldn’t miss. What stood out most to you?

Is that the aquarium in Long Beach?  If so, a better option is taking the ferry to Catalina island (one departs almost hourly out of LB) and enjoy the ocean as well as all the sea life (you can even scuba off the beach into a kelp garden that is loaded with fish/ inverts ).  Of course, it will eat up a day…but that is a day trip I recommend to anyone going to LA area.

I appreciate the tip.  Catalina Island is definitely at the top of my list if things work out and I have a full day to explore.
