  1. Im looking for a Kalk reactor. Bob said you might be able to make me a nice one. I was wondering what the pricing was and does it make a difference how many gallons you make it for? If so I have a 90gallon frag tank that Im in the begining stages of building. I have the tank, its cycling, nothing in it.

    NaCl prices

Some of the LFS have sales. I go to where I live which would be BRK. Check them out and see if they have a sale on. Look in the Vendor section. Do not go to Pet Smart.
  3. I love the juice. I use it in my fish only tank which is where they show up and I kill them when they are gynormous. I wait till they get about the size of a quarter then I get my revenge. I take the syringe and "boom" white cloud and no more pest! I think it states that its reef safe. That being said, the zoa's might be bitter for a while. I wouldnt worry till they fell off.
  4. I have some picks of some red bacteria that was in my tank. I have pictures in the gallery under tanks. It was real bad though. Doesnt sound like you have the same thing. But take a look and see if it is. If it is I have a posting on how to fix it. Hope it helps.
  5. Update of a possible fix: After reading Nates links, its bacteria. 1. I did not use any lights for three days. 2. I added no food for three days. 3. I turned on the lights this morning and there was virtually no red, black, or nasty anywhere. Three days earlier I had about given up. Most of my coral was covered and I thought I was doomed. Funny thing, when I turned on the lights I could see little critters on some of the red bacteria that was on my glass. They look like those bugs you see when you flip a rock in your backyard that are armored and can curl up for protection. I guess they have been eating that stuff. Because when I turn on the light, they began to leave the red and head for the rock cover. I think I might leave the lights on for today then leave off for two more, then off for one more and see if that kills it off completely. I did not have to add more flow though.
  6. I have bought two different sets of Odyssea one set of 72" T5's and a 30" T5. They are both now dead and have owned them for less than a year. But I didnt by MH. I will never buy that brand again. Wait for someone to give you advise that has been keeping coral for a couple of years. They will give you a heads up.
  7. I think Nate has found my culperit. http://www.wetwebmedia.com/bluegralgae.htm
  8. Once again, I have to bail Chris out. I have a Dremel with a diamond tip. I think it will take about 2 minutes to cut through whatever you want. It might cost you though...
  9. The pictures are in the gallery under "tanks"
  10. site wont load them into the thread. Take a look in the gallery under tanks. That is how much this stuff grows in 48 hours...

Here is a picture of the whole infected tank.
  16. Ok, I know this will shock the WAMAS community to the core. Its like something from a horror movie. Its "The Blob" meets "The creature from the black aquarium." Here are pictures of the tank I came home to tonight. This was 48 hours after I cleaned it.
  17. Hey Chris can you get me one of each of your zoa's? I have some tube orange or peach frags I can trade or give cash for the rest. I also have a superman, neon green mushrooms that I will be splitting. Let me know if you are interested in trading or how much for one of each of the your zoa's. Thanks.
  18. If I remember that far back it was the stuff with the sea water already in it. I also have "Spot Lights" in the tank which are the blue leds that make it look like moon beams.
  19. The tank has been up for about six months at least. I have a 48" T5 on from 7:00am till 7:00pm. Then i have those small blue portable leds on at night.
  20. Cyclopeds and the baby green bag food that BRK sells. I only have a foxface in there along with frags. I also have peppermint shrimp, 2 crabs. I feed the fish once a day. I put cyclopeds in there once very other day. i have two powerheads. One is 600 and one is 1200 so the flow should be ok?
  21. Less than a year. I dont have these issues with the other tanks either. Plus Nate uses the water and he is fine. Some sort of weird bacteria that I cant kill.
  22. I know I have posted a forum on this subject alredy but the symptoms worsen. The dark red stuff and now black stuff are on my glass and in the sand with 24 hours of me cleaning it out. It makes a person wanna give up the hobby. The water parameters are fine. I have done at least a 20% water change every other week for at least a month. Is there something like "dirty sand"? Does something make sand go bad? It seems that it grows in the sand and starts to cover LR, then glass. It has covered all the snails shells, the conch, frags, everything. Can someone please advise if I just need to break it down and start over? I have a frag tank and a 220 tank that I get water from the same RODI so its not that either. I dont want to put anything from my 55 into my other tanks for fear of contaminiation. Please advise, signed frustrated.
  23. Did you get the sun coral from Marine Scene? I bought some from them recently and mine had not come out either. I have other sun coral in my tank that are well aclimated and are doing fine. They might be stressed. They really seem to like cyclopeds though. Try putting that in the water after the blue lights come and the mh's go out. Also, try building a ledge over them so they are in the shade and have a powehead close in moderate flow.
  24. I can feed the big one a silverside every three days and the smaller one a half a silver every three days and they stay buff. It is now officially "Bob"!
  25. Do they split or show up in different parts of the tank? I want it to grow out and its VERY big (four inches for one of the polyps now) but dont want to frag it till sure that it is healthy. Dont know how fast they will grow either. Any ideas?
