  5. solenoid is powered by 120v might have to purchase a new relay since i am pretty sure mine wont do what i need it to. i have a 12v power adaptor and project box and one float switch
  6. i found one online and maybe i dont understand it but i guess it would help to see a actual pic of the relay hooked up. Im no electrical engineer by far
  7. I do not have a AC3. This can be done using a relay but i need a diagram for wiring
  8. I need a diagram. I am tryting to put two float switched in my RO top off tank and hook them to a solonoid hooked to my RO water main. Want to have a lower and upper switch where it cuts on when the water level is low and cut off when it reaches the upper float switch when full.
  9. Is the coral in the second picture on the right (green with purple) the one you got from me?
  10. i am pretty sure i have everything i need minus a float switch but need to know how to wire it
  11. Try to do a DIY autotop with a latching system hooked up to a solanoid. Anyone have a diagram or pics?

  13. I could come over and help you uncover some of the corals that are hiding Ill bring my bone cutters and beers and we could make it a party! haha
  14. Is that a sunset monti on the right side of the tank? It looks amazing!
  15. Water storage has one float switch hooked up to a valve that closes off the water supply to the RO. When I need water for making fresh saltwater I put the float switch from the water storage and place it in a 55g drum i use for salt water. I am try to put a latching system on my water storage container and hook it up to the valve thats normally closed. I also want to hook up another float switch to my 55g barrel and have that hooked up to the same valve but need to bypass the latching system. understand?
  16. OK so i have my ro/di hooked up to a float switch and a value thats normally closed hooked up to my topoff container. When i make saltwater I have another container and put the float switch in there so when it fills it turns off. Ro output is spilt with one to the saltwater container and the other going to the makeup. They both have valves to turn each of them off or on. I want to put my topoff container on a latching system and also have a single float switch (that i can turn on or off when i need to refill the container) but want to utilize the single valve that i have hooked up to the RO. Anyone know how i can do this?
  17. That lobster looks tasty
  18. I have been running barebottom for a year and this is what i think. BB pros: Easy to control nitrates etc because you can siphon out the stuff that settles on the bottom More flow (alot more) More room BB cons: After awhile glass gets covered with coraline and IMO doesnt look very nice If you dont keep up with the siphoning you have crud on the bottom of the tank. I wish i could put in starboard and epoxy some sand to it for a natural look but I am pretty sure it would encrust over time with coraline. So i like it for some reason but i do like the look of real sand
  19. Whats your tank parameters? I went through the same thing 6 months ago when the tank crashed and i reaquascaped and right back in it. Seems everytime i feel that way i get interested again and make it better than before
  20. Sounds like it would be easier with a real buffer and a empty tank. Would like to try this out one day to see if it works
  21. I almost bought that potters two weeks ago. Its a big one!

  23. some times back out and back into the thread will shrink the pics. It took me about a hour and a half
  24. When i originally framed it i was going to enclose the front but took the advise of others and what i did was get some MDF wood (smooth) and cut it to fit the entire front. I attached to hinges on the inside so you only see a small opening on one side and a small crack on the other. I then painted it the same color of the wall and hung a picture to throw people off. Anyone that has come over is surprised when i open the front. Ill try to see if i have time to take a picture tonight
  25. frags are doing good thanks again
