  1. also need to ask not only the tank parameters but also the rodi.. I have a 210 and fought hair algae for months in my tanks early stages. I went the nuclear route I pulled out the rocks one at a time and scrubbed them with hydrogen peroxide and a stiff brush. that stunned enough until my cleanup crew of urchins, tang gang, and snails could keep up.. skimmer with a good wet skim and balanced nutrients, not low nutrients, but balanced I continue to run higher nutrients with a sps dominant tank and no hair algae
  2. I also forgot to mention I increased my bio load .. I added 4 pyramid butterflyfish and a copperband to my mix right around the same time I removed my filter roller.. I still run my skimmer 24/7 . a few new fish should increase nitrate especially without filtration.. my thoughts I would keep the skimmer running though for the air exchange even if it's a really dry skim. for me once my tank and nutrients found a my cyano reside
  3. I might be jumping in late, but what are you using for filtration? over the years iv fought cyano and have dosed nitrates and have dosed bacteria/mb7 the easiest cheapest solution was filter less and turned up my skimmer. my reef is a sps dominant and likes the higher nutrients
  4. i also agree with cyano iv had my battles with it fought it for months before I went the chemiclean route
  5. the risk of what they might have kept in it outweighs the reward in my opinion
  6. I recirculated my skimmer it worked great I never controlled my skimmer to turn off hit 8.5, 8.55 often with no I'll effects after 8 months was tired of replacing media and just back to outside line. 8.3 -8.35 is the normal
  7. I have personally ordered from tsm fish are about a year old, mystery wrasse, whitetail bristletooth, and hawkish, no issues was great to deal with.. dr reef I recently purchased a true Hawaii yellow tang, 3 convict tangs, orange shoulder tang, Desjardini sailfin, and a scopas.. all are doing great and have had about 6 months.. great communication and good to deal with won't send fish until he feels they will make the trip and weather is right delayed an order of mine for 3 weeks showed up in great condition
  8. I recently did the same thing with my 210 I put 2 vectra s2's in the place of the bottom holes and currently use them for a closed loop system.. works great. drilled the back for modular marine overflow and 2 returns
