And what was a JF Fox Flame :/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Don’t think I can get much better than that. Turned the blues all the way down and used AquariCam. Also turned off flow. I’ve removed the couple of Frags that already looked 100% dead but there wasn’t much to show there other then the white skeleton [emoji47] Whit I find interesting is how quickly Coralline too over that one with the yellow arrow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Tips down. Best pic I could get. You and see Coralline has already encrusted almost the entire part of one Acropora Skeleton, in like two weeks, if that. (Red arrow) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve got a 60gal Mixed Reef, about 7-8 months old. Pretty well stocked with fish and coral. Added one Coral (Leptastrea frag) in the past month since I’ve started having issues with my SPS. I dip every new coral I get with Coral Rx. So a couple weeks ago I started noticing my Acropora frags taking a downward spiral. I thought it was flatworms but now whatever the issue is, is also attacking my Millie frags. It’s really frustrating because I am extremely meticulous with my tank, and all of my SPS was already encrusting onto the rock and then all of a sudden this happens. I refuse to be disheartened because I believe this is all part of the hobby. It’s especially annoying because literally everything else in the tank is fully open, growing, and happy. I’ve got Montis, Chalice, Torch, Fragspawn, Octospawn, Cloves, Zoas, Palys, Acans, Mushrooms, Kenya Trees, Leathers, Duncans, Xenia RBTA, Rock Flower Nem, and a Derasa Clam. They are all doing GREAT. I do one water change a month about 20% with Saltwater from the LFS and have a Tunze ATO that pumps RODI from the LFS so I know Salinity is good. (I also check it atleast twice a week with a calibrated refractometer) I dose Reef Builder and Reef Advantage whenever the tank needs it. I also dose Acro Power once a week. My parameters pretty stable around: Salinity 1.026X Cal 420 Alk 10.2 Mag 1280 The other parameters are all pretty much undetectable on my Test Strips, although I use Salifert for the above parameters. I’m running a protein skimmer, Refugium with Chaeto and Miracle Mud, and a phosphate Reactor with phosban. I feed the tank Rods Food, Reef Roids, Phyto Feast, and Oyster Feast. Im running a Macspect RZR 160Watt with upgraded lenses and haven’t changed the photoperiod. I also run filter floss and GFO carbon bags bc it fits perfect in one of my Sump chambers. I’ve got a titanium Finnix heater, and Maxspect Gyre. If there’s something I left out that could help diagnose the problem let me know. Thank you in advance! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for the clarification everyone. After doing more research, I’m pretty confident it’s a vermetid snail. I’m going to go ahead and put a bead of super glue on the end of it just to be safe.

Like the title says. Got this beautiful coral from another member on WAMAS a few weeks ago. As I do not have the space for a Quarantine tank I dipped it in Coral Rx per the instructions and put it in my tank. As I was feeding the tank I noticed two antennae looking things sticking of one of the branches, and there seems to be a tiny hole on that branch. Any ideas? Photo attached.

As far as I know it’s not man made rock. In regards to my parameters, something odd has been going on and in a previous post I talked about a drastic drop in Cal&Alk. I’m going to the LFS today to have them test the water just to see the difference between their results and the ones I got with my Salifert test kits.
-
I doubt it because I bout the rocks “live” from the LFS, and they seemed to be in the tubs a while.

Hey everyone, so I was blowing off my rocks today and noticed an area that seemed to have what looked like an abnormal area of detritus so I used my finger and the rock literally started disintegrating! My finger went right through the rock and I picked out a clump of grey matter. It did a number on the visual water quality (more than normal). As you can see in the photo it looks like a “channel” where my finger went in. WHAT IS GOING ON?! Mill be doing a 30% water change tomorrow just in case.

Hey everyone, I’m going to head to the store tomorrow and have them text my water. I do not have the capability of mixing my own water at home. I usually just buy premixed salt water from my LFS

Welcome back!

Origami, thanks for the quick reply! just checked my Salinity with the Refractometer and it’s around 1.026 (almost looks like 1.027) I also double checked the accuracy with my calibration solution. Just FYI my RBTA is open and looks to be in great shape. Also, every fish is active and healthy, and the corals are all open. Even my Pom-poms are “Pom-Poming” haha

Hey everyone, I’ve got a 60Gal Mixed Reef that’s about 3 months old. I’ve been doing water changes about every two weeks while the tank is getting established. I have been dosing Seachem Reef Builder Alk, and both Reef Advantage Cal & Mag per the ‘beginner’ directions. Recently started dosing Purple Up at 2/3 capfull a day for the past week. Last tested my Cal & Alk using Salifert kits last Sunday. I’ve been testing weekly and the parameters have been in the vicinity of 490 and 9.8 respectively. I know it’s a major no-no, but I do not currently have a Mag test kit even though I’m dosing it. (I will be purchasing one this weekend) Yesterday I added a 2 inch Derasa Clam and decided to check my parameters today just because. My Alk read 1.2 and Cal 100, I did the test twice for verification with no major change. Can any any of the more seasoned Reefers throw some ideas my way and let me know how I could rectify this? Thanks. - Justin

Hey everyone, I’ve got a 44Gal Mixed Reef that currently has a pair Clownfish and a Tailspot Blenny. I need ideas for a special fish to be the centerpiece. Preferably something Reef friendly (but open to other ideas) and a max budget of $200 give or take a few bucks.

I did go to MACNA. It was truly an AMAZING experience. The speakers, meeting the people behind all the popular YouTube Channels, the crazy deals on frags, and checking out new equipment. It was unreal. You definitely have to budget yourself on livestock though because the uninhibited could easily go broke. -

Pendleton. Was my second time being stationed there, I love it. I really like it, got a smoking deal on it used two years ago. Changed out the lenses to the new white, wide angles and they're great. beautiful shimmer and spread. -

Hey everyone, I'm in the military and recently transferred to Quantico from SoCal. I cannot WAIT to get my tank set back up once my household goods get here! I've done a little scoping out of LFS in the area and let me tell you, CORAL PRICES HERE ARE RIDICULOUS compared to SoCal. Do you guys have any go-to places in the area? Pic of my tank when I first set it up in 2016 for your time. 44G AquaJapan w/ StarFire Glass & Sump. Hard plumbing throughout.
