So i think im starting to see either diatom or algae bloom starting in my tank my phosphate was 0.05 last time I checked. I was under the impression that you don't get algae if u have low phosphate or nutrients

Hey Rob, yea i know, whats the old saying opinions are like ...... This was more of just an observation pondering etc kinda thing. Yea I am in no hurry i know how you feel about the t5s but im still considering the t5 led combos. But probably will go with the ai hydras. EcoTech is just too much Here is a funny story so i was talking about how expensive the lights are and some kid suggested I do a go fund me page so out of curiosity i went to go fund me and the cover story was a refuge family from Afghanistan who got tboned in sterling killed the mom dad has spinal injury both babies in the hospital, so i didn't start a page and donated a couple of bucks. To be clear the family tragedy is not funny me thinking i was going to get free money and end up giving is funny

This is a funny hobby, when i was a kid i had racing pigeons back in the 80's there wasn't this much dispute about what to do. While I am sitting here writing this im thinking would there have been so much dispute over how to keep pigeons if the internet was around. I am thinking probably so i guess its not the hobbies fault but the internet. My reason for these thoughts or small rant is its hard to get anything definitive. So i was struggling with my light decision so i figured i would take a break from it till the day after Christmas sales so i started looking at biopellet reactors and same as the lights evrey one and their mother has an opinion and all sound convincing. I dont have Facebook or cable TV and I rib my gf for being on Facebook all the time i am starting to get that way with reading these blogs lol.

So Like a Dumb a$$ i cranked down on my pump housing and cracked the out let on my Hammerhead reeflo, ordered a new one got it and now i am trying to put the new face plate that I broke back on. so when I took the face plate off i noticed that on the O ring there seems to be some sort of sealant like white silicone aquarium sealer type of material. I cant find any place on their website or on line videos that says that I should use any thing like that anyone have any ideas. Thnaks

I am not picking on this lighting industry its a new trend that a lot of companies are getting into and have been for a while now, washer dryers that are built, the same unit for home depot as lows but put slightly different model numbers on them so you can't get them to compete for your business. You worried about home depot making money? Walmart came into evrey town and sold products below cost till they put everyone out of business legal but dirty business practice in my opinion. The company in pa do they really build it here or they stick a built in usa sticker on a Chinese product?

Do remember zodys,kmart, Woolworths gemco, these businesses became obsolete and went away. Thats just how it goes old business go away and new businesses with new business models take over. Do you really believe that any manufacturer cares what happens to some little business?

That would be very illegal, but this i think is just wrong and not in the intrest of the consumer, and I can think of a lot of products that sell under different names but all belong to the same company.

Yea I understand all the reasoning behind it but I still believe the free market system and if you (figuratively speaking) cant keep up then maybe you shouldn't be in business.

Thanks, how far away are you I am still new to this area, I thought about buying a fixture on amazon from the hydroponics people but the bulbs will be more than the fixture

I just scanned the doc you sent Matt thanks, yea its legal but as John says doesn't really give me the warm and fuzzies. Makes me not really wanna buy from those manufacturers, but seems like all the major brands are that way so far in lighting anyway. I get on my soap box often with the airlines which i loath and I hope in my life time I will get to see a bullet train running cross country in the states so then maybe these airliners will treat people a little better till then they have no motivation to do so and I wish i could find the news story which they were route fixing and i forget how they weaseled their way out of it.
