  1. What about covering them with something to block the light? Perhaps a piece of plastic trashbag weighted down with some pieces of rock. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Just to be sure I've got this right- you put a damsel in a tank with just sand and no live rock for a month? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I have small clumps of what I think is turf algae growing in random crevices. The tuxedo urchin keeps most of the rock sparkling clean. I can manually pull the clumps off, piece of cake. However, it seems like having some algae in the tank for the hermit crabs and clowns to snack on is a good idea. Especially since I usually skip feeding in Saturday. I'm also planning on adding a pygmy angel, and I think they might eat some, too. It would be easy to clean it out. I consider it a sign that there are nutrients in the tank for the coral even though the nitrates and phosphate don't register on the test kit, so I'm not unhappy. Just trying to decide whether to clean it up or not. Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Am I right in thinking you can only have one or a pair in a tank? How old do they need to be to identify the males and females? I have a mature fish already promised to me. I'd like to get a second if I could be reasonably sure they would get along. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I would think that would hold you until the power is back on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. You can get it on Amazon in two days with Amazon Prime. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Some people recommend replacing sand because it tends to acquire a lot of detritus over time and stirring it up and then putting it in a new tank can cause problems. I would recommend rinsing the sand very well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Clowns don't need an anemone. If you don't want one, you don't need to add it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Beautiful colors. What are the blue fish? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Maybe try it in a bucket first? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Yes, the live rock can transfer ick. However, if you keep it in a fish free tank (or Brute trash can) for 72 days it will be ick free. Then you can use it. The parasite needs a fish host to reproduce. You should quarantine everything before you put it in your tank. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
