  1. I get the storage space thing. My last condo was not huge by any means, but I did have a garage which helped. I already figured I would have to lean out my equipment and spares so that's a given. I had this tank in on the second level of my 3 story condo in Ohio and didn't have any major flood issues. I'm hoping to keep water changes to 5g at a time and make the water as I need it. I'm guessing I won't have a lot of space in a laundry area, so my RODI will have to go back under the kitchen sink with a detachable 5g bucket with a float valve. Our real estate agent is a friend and said he would make sure to figure out the tank situation in each property we look at. I'd hate to downsize, and I certainly will if I need to, but I am going to try and keep the RS Reefer. A 5 foot tank is much nicer to play with than a 60g cube.
  2. My wife and I moved from DC 4 years ago back to Ohio where we both grew up, and just returned. Life was simply better here. Anyways, when I lived in DC before, I only kept a small tank. In Ohio, I put up a Red Sea Reefer 450, which is about 92g in the DT and 25 or so in the sump. I put that in storage and set up a small tank in the mean time. Right now I am in NOVA, staying with my brother, and instead of moving that much livestock, I basically kept hardy things that I didn't want to rebuy and threw it all in a 20g Long DT and Sump (fill to the rim with LR). We are looking for condos right now in the city and I would love to be able to put up my RS reefer again when I move all my crap. Right now, we are wanting to buy a condo in a high rise, which should be fine for a big tank since they all have concrete flooring, but how much of a PITA would it be to keep a tank that size in the city? I can't imagine it being much different than a small tank, just more water to make... but wanted to see if anyone had personal experience with it. BTW, here is my tank the day before I sold most of my coral. and then my 20g Long from several weeks ago. Things are growing well in the 20g and should have some frags available soon.
  3. Interested in the tune 9002 Skimmer.
  4. I'm getting back in the hobby after selling everything when I moved to the area. Now I'm going to start small, 18g Cadlights Mini Cube, and eventually upgrade to a large tank once I settle in a more permanent apartment. That being said, where is a good place to get premium or fully cure live rock in NOVA (I'm in Arlington)? Any experience with local vendors that have pest free, light weight, attractive live rock? Anyone selling off some of their personal LR that is pest free? I would order from Tampa Bay Salt Water, but don't want to pay freight for 15 lbs. I'm only looking to get 10-15lbs, so I don't mind paying a premium price for premium rock.
