  1. I just set one up over the weekend. I didn't ask if it was OK, so we'll see if someone says something. I've never spent so much time explaining Pulsing Xenia.
  2. I stopped by AA/IC this weekend and saw your tank whilst browsing corals. I'm literally across the street (and new to the area, kinda bored till the weather warms up too) so if you need a hand moving the thank or setting it up or whatever give me holler.
  3. Howdy! I was a frequent visitor when I lived in Dayton, but now that I'm in VA I miss being able to make a quick trip over to see you but am glad you are a sponser here as well! I'd like to order some aquacultured live sand, crude, rubble, (I'm thinking 5-10lbs each) and maybe a couple dozen snails, but I'm trying to maximise my purchase of these items vs. shipping costs. Is two day a viable shipping option? What would you recommend taking shipping costs and box size into account? Thanks!!
  4. RO/DI units all generate more waste then usable water. Usually 2 gallons are wasted for every gallon purified. Water temp can effect this...you waste more with cold water then you would if the input water was closer to 75ish degrees. The waste water can be used though, it's still better than tap water to drink, water plants, or even fill the washer with.
  5. Thanks! They did indeed have some! Cheap too!
  6. Can anyone recomend a location nearish to Reston when i can pick up a 4' length of 3/4" ID black vinyl tubing? I've checked the usual suspects but haven't been able to find any. Thanks!
  7. BFS was my go to DI place in Ohio. Good company and they have both resins. Edit: Now that I look closer they are not color changing...sorry.
  8. I recently ordered a RO/DI filter from you all and it's been great, but I was curious about something. The DI "canister" (not sure if that is what you'd call it) never fills with water. Production is fine and TDS is 0, I was just curious if this is normal. Thanks!
  9. I just went back to using the faucet adapter after adding a tee to the cold water line. I found that production was about half using just cold water versus using tepid water (75ish degrees) from the faucet. I dislike all the tubes everywhere, but the faster production time makes up for it. I have a new float valve that you are welcome to...it came with my R/O system but I don't need it. PM me and we can work something out.
  10. I got it moved and everything is wet, thanks for the offers!
  11. I could use hand moving 47 gal tank from my car an up a couple flight of stairs. Due to me running way behind on a nine hour drive my buddy had to bow out for other obligations. Will take 10 mins, if that. Tank is not heavy just to awkward for one person. I should be there by 8:30pm, if anyone could help I'd really appreciate it and owe you some frags! Please pm me so I get an email, I'd rather not check forums while driving. Thanks!
  12. Whoops...thought it would show up automagically there on the left...I've got it figured out now. I'm in Reston.
  13. Really new! I just moved here from the Dayton, OH area. I've been keeping saltwater tanks on and off for the last 20 years or so. My most recent foray is a 47gal shallow cube reef. You can see it on WORC...I won't clutter this up with old pics. I have yet to move the tank here, hopefully soon, but dealing with tank moving logistics has proved troublesome. I've been toying with the idea of having a 100gal shallow cube made up locally, so if anyone would make recommendations for nearby folks that do custom work (either glass or acrylic) I'd really appreciate it. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting involved, checking out all the LFS (it's amazing to have so many in a 30 mile radius!), and getting to know folks!! JeremyS
