how do you control the salinity fluctuations due to a large surface area. i.e. -If you have a 1/2" water fluctuation in a 10 gallon footprint that maybe a one gallon of evaporation -but in a say 90 gallon footprint that would be 2.5 gallons evaporation. in a preformed pond that could be 10 or more gallons. In my expierence the tunze light will change to red when it has pumped too much? will this result in too much salinity fluctuations?

some of them I have had for 4 years. the signs are bulging eyes. my kole tang turned solid white. I had just added some fish to the tank? any ideas?

as part of weekly maintenance, i had been doing 10% water changes?

My corals were looking the best i ever had, then i got dinos ...i reduced my metal halide photo period to 2 hrs, and quit weekly water changes,now my hard corals are suffering. the dinos are mostly gone, but I am afraid that they will come back , now that i have upped the photoperiod of my lights. My ph hovers around 8.0, I even have my skimmer drawing air from the outside ,and still cannot get my ph up. thanks in advance

I have some small fish that won't get any if i don't put a lot in the tank? They get out competed for the food. How do you guys feed , when you have fish in the tank that are not as quick,or deliberate feeders like copper band?

I don't see any way i can get him out? Even my small net(2 inches wide) is to big.

i was fastening it to a clip. My sail fin eats it. and the yellow tang is starting to show interest, but not the kole tang. never tried black worms. have to try them.

won't eat anything i have tried to put in the tank I have tried romaine soaked in garlic nori soaked in garlic live brine mysis rogers frozen food. spirulina frozen brine he looks healthy.I have had him almost a week, should i be worried? Any ideas?

Zeovit tanks run low alkalinity.

I would like to run my all at alkalinity at 7.0. So I would like it too fall some .gradually over time. But my salt alkalinity is 8.0.

when would you guys recommend me turn the calcium reactor on? My alk = 8.0 and calcium is 410. I only have 3 spa frags. each one about 1.5"

So I have been soaking dry rock and dry sand for over two months and changing the water every couple days until it read zero phosphates and zero nitrates. First time I have went to this much trouble, but on this tank I am taking my time. FINALLY : WATER IN TANK AND CYCLING. here is a picture of the aqua scaping my wife and i did for this tank. We got this cement from MarcoRocks. and we used 1" pvc pipe to hold the rocks together. The rocks can be removed from one another though, the cement was for balancing more than anything.

Yes , I have the control turned to the most bubbles per second(all the way counter-clockwise). the pressure on one is 14 and the other one is high(I will have too look tonight

who did you call. I got mine used? I have a check valve and i have tested it..it is installed correctly and it works.

yes thats the one. I have pressure on both gauges. which one are you using now? I just bought two of them,one for 300 gallon and one for 90 gallon system, so I hope I can get them to work long term. Has anyone else got one to work long term?

This is my first time using a co2 reactor, and my regulator appears not to be working. When i plug it in to dc power i see the red light come on/off. I believe it is not geeting co2 out of regulator, becuase when i loosen the regulator i can hear co2 leaking. when i put the air hose in a glass of water i see no bubbles. Can someone help diagnose this issue?

tomorrow ,I will post some pictures. but I am afraid my pictures rate not that good. The bubble traps are built by melevsreef spec. (3 dividers spaced 1.75" apart, with middle one higher than either side for water to run underneath). There are 2 of them. one after skimmer chamber, and one before return chamber. the sump is 24" x 42", 60 or so gallon. I do have a spare return pump, but I would need to plumb it. I am just wondering if that would help as I have cut the flow of the existing pump to less than half capacity? the skimmer is a Korallen Zucht Revolution "m".....it calls for an aqua bee 5000 pump.

I have been battling micro bubbles for 2 weeks. They are coming from my skimmer. I have added two bubble traps ,and I am still getting them. I am under the impression it is being caused by: 1.)too fast of flow in the sump or 2.)the tank is just new and it will take time to break in? I am using a reef octopus 10000Y pump that I got from the previous owner. I think maybe this pump (2600gph at 0 head) is too much. I have throttled it down, but I am starting too think I should go with a pump more along the lines of 1200-1500gph? The skimmer and tank are new. what say you guys?

I am having issues with micro bubbles now from skimmer. I have added one set of baffles, I am in the process of adding a better set. I bought this tank from a fellow reefer, and when he had it ,I thought his return pump(10000y reef octopus, 2600gph at 0 head) was too much. Once I get a better set of baffles in the sump If i still have the issue ,I am going to change the pump. I am already valving off the existing pump. On other fronts I have been cooking live rock for about 2 weeks now. Probably have a couple weeks left ....still reading phosphate and nitrate.
