Thanks tom that really helped me to understand my RO system better. I went from an output of 21 to 0. Now i dont have to replace all my filters! Here is a picture of my refugium. Any help with its installation would be great. thx.

Hello all, Is there supposed to be a discharge line for my RO/DI unit? The way i have it hooked up is one in from faucet and one out after DI unit for RO/DI water. Read somewhere where there is supposed to be another line out? Also, I need some help with my refugium. It is a hang on type that the nano cube guy gave me with the tank. I am just not sure how it works or should attach?? Thx.

I am not sure tom. I bought it about 8 years ago when i was trying the hobby then. used it about 2 times and gave it up. Also, i have another question about the system in general. I have quite a bit of water flow coming out my OUT tube. I have read that there is supposed to be some sort of discharge line?? my lines are continous and there is no line i see for that, can someone clarify for me please?? thx

So i need to change my filters/membranes in my 7 stage RO/DI unit and have never done that. Lucky for me it appears that the company went out of business or has relocated to Canada. Are all filters the same size (universal)?? thx. By the way this is the unit i have or at least similiar.

Ok, got my new TDS monitor in and put it on my 7 stage RO/DI unit to find out my intake water is around 190 but my output is around 18-19. i know that ZERO is best! So, I am assuming that means that i need to change ALL the filters? it has been a long time since i used the unit but i have run about 20 gallons through it recently. Its still better than using tap water. Does anyone know a good place to get the filters/membranes?? thanks a bunch!!

Power Center Just picked this up at a LFS and read the directions but still a big foggy on it, hoping someone that has/has had one can help me out. I am trying to figure out how to set up the blue receptacles (night time). Its clear about the day ones, but doesnt really tell you how to set it up for the night ones? it has up to 7 programable settings but not sure how to get to the second one??? thx.

well....i took the entire canopy apart to day and just re-tightened every wire i could find. Took the ballast apart and did the same. put it back together and it is working like a champ. What did i do to fix it? have NO idea. Musta been a loose wire?? But thank you all for your insight!!!

I need some of your rocket scientists advice. My fans on my really nifty AIO jbj with metal halides are coming on sporadically, less and less. Which in turn is leaving the MH light to auto turn off. The light will only stay on about 10 minutes until it heats up then shuts off. What would cause all 4 fans to not turn on? Over the last few days i have heard a fluctiation in the speed of the fans but i can not find anywhere whether these are variable speed fans which would cause them to run at different speeds.

Same here Quazi, I have a 7 stage RO/DI and only have a 28 gallon nano tank to use it with! So if anyone ever needs any water i can make 5 gallons in about 10 minutes. I am in the Waldorf area!

As far as the basket i have read enough that i agree with you on that, but on the skimmer will this nano one do that much more than either/or/both of the other 2? By the way what do you have in your basket?? i have to set mine up by tomorrow??

I saw the thread on how important a skimmer is. I am introduing 2 clowns into my tank (28 gallon JBJ with 150MH-and PC's) that i am getting from Doug at the meeting this weekend. Being new, i do not want to have to guess at this part. I have 2 skimmers on hand right now. Which one of these 2 would be sufficient, or if the concesus is that these 2 are really that awful then i will look into getting another one. 1. Seaclone 100 2. Oceanic airstone driven Thanks.

well for about 4 i can think of that need timers. the MH light, the nite-vue lights for evening and morning, the 2 power heads to turn off during feeding time, I guess i could turn those off manually since i would be feeding them.

Ok....couple of questions about the media basket in my nano cube 28 gallon. 1. Do i need to get a bigger media basket than the original as depicted here? media basket 2. There are 3 sections in the media basket. I currently have some media in the top chamber given to me from the LFS. Some rubble rock in the second chamber and more media in the third. There is alot out there on what to put where, but i wanted to get some more info. Cheato? Carbon bag? Chemi-pure? I guess filter floss needs to go in the top one. I was just wondering when i should take out the old media and possibly remove the rubble rock from the basket and input this new stuff?? I will be adding some clowns that i will be picking up at the meeting next week, so i would like to have the tank ready to go and make few changes once i introduce the fish into the tank. LFS did a water test today and everything came up in acceptable range.
