Thanks for the advice. I will drain and take everything out before I move it. I was hoping to not have to move it til I moved.

Got a good amount of water on the floor and we are gonna pull the carpet up and put down tile. I was thinking of building a temporary stand draining half the water and sliding my tank from one stand to the other and back. This will also allow me to move my Sump for better access. It is a 220 gallon tank. My question is can this work and is there anything I should know before I try this. Appreciate any help.

Had to rewire mine. removed normal plug and spliced directly. both of mine went like that and one shot a little fire

I don't have it but now that you brought it to my attention I may get one. I was reading reviews from reefcentral and it sounds like it works pretty well.

Got home from work today and my moorish idol has what appears to be a knife wound. I assume he pushed his lick with one of the tangs he is probably the most pushy fish in the tank. Is there anything I should do to help him out or just let him be. He is swimming around as much as ever and still eating.

I may actually have to call him about the ever elusive firefish soon.

He's actually the only place I have gotten fish this last yr or so.

Wayne at SaltWaterWorx does what he says quality fish and always locates the hard to find. From my specifically Hawaiian moorish idol golden dwarf moray to koi for my pond, lol, he always comes through.

is there a reef safe paint. I was going to make acrylic covers like the ones rioreef posted but wouldn't know what to paint them with.

Just my opinion and very possible that this guy is exactly what you guys say. But at some point or another most of the stuff in this hobby should have been left in the ocean and not in a tank. I don't believe the desire to have one of these is is arrogant and except for the confines of our hobby is not much of a status symbol. I wouldn't by one, for the moment at least, but would love to have the ability to take care of a shark if I ever have a large enough tank. It is why we are in the hobby to be able to take care of interesting beautiful creatures. Hopefully he takes proper care of them and kudos to liveaquaria for actually standing by that.

I have been reading I am thinking either the anthias or firefish my wife and son love the firefish. Gonna look at cardinals real quick.

Oddly enough you mentioning it makes the hawkfish the only one I have ever thought of pairing. When I started the only things I knew that I wanted were the tangs. I just kind of made my list by what was pretty or neat lol. A buddy of mine was looking at the tank and talking about how everywhere you look you see something different going on and said can you get anything else how about an eel. So thats how they came about. I will have to try to be a little less random maybe whenever I get started on corals.

Which tankmates have you curious?
