  1. This. Just sell it, start fresh. No tears, no tangles.

This is exactly what I am having to do this go around, as hard as it is. I haven't sold off my coral, fish, equipment etc. in the near 20yrs of being in the hobby. I have moved numerous times, some 5hrs+ away with coral, fish, etc. but in the end...It's a huge risk to take. This go around, mainly due to the fact it is cross-country, taking the risk just isn't there for me. I rather see the corals, fish, etc. thrive in someone's tank here, versus risking them in a very long distant transfer where I wouldn't even have an established tank setup once I got there. If I did have an established tank in place prior to the move, that's a different story, where I would just FedEx everything to the new place... Just something to think about.

  2. I love my Reeflo Orca. Never had an issue and It's very consistent. Even at a time when the 550gal system had ~55+ fish, fully stocked SPS, etc., never ran into issues. I'm also able to run the air-intake outside to pull in fresh air. Though its "big" its relatively compact in size. There's plenty of mods you can do just like any other skimmer, but I personally have not found I need to make them, as it runs great as it is. Great choice IMHO.

  3. Thanks everyone. Honestly, I never really touch the tank and just let the corals do their thing :) All i really do is scrape the algae off the glass...Haven't changed water since April (though not recommending this, just my neglect of being busy). I'm hoping to dedicate more time to the tank, as my schedule slows; which will involve a serious trimming :) Other than that, everything that's in my TOTM thread is still accurate regarding equipment, etc.. Thinking of changing out the halides for the new Kessil's though, hmmm... :)

  4. Looking good man! Hey I got some reeflux 400w 12k's and noticed that one bulb is much more blue than the others. Did you ever notice anything like that when you were running them?

I never had any issues with the Reeflux, only the plusrites. Give it a week for them to burn-in a little.

The Orange Sided or Orange Back Wrasse, Cirrhilabrus aurantidorsalis, is one of my favorite reef safe wrasses too. The are a community fish living in small groups in the wild. Mine were always peaceful.

The corlas are growing nicely. Any plans to thin them out some?

Yeah, they are awesome! I wasn't able to get the pair to standstill togehter for the photoshoot, but they get along great with the other 50 fish :)

Yes, i do say its about time to thin the corals, as they are starting to grow together now; which is fine, but thinning can't hurt.

  5.

I remember it on the floor, helping to try to buff out haze from one of the panels.

It's looking good these days Fazio92! How's the captive clown breeding program going? Restarted yet?

Thanks, Tom! B&Ws and Picasso's are 5 days old, so it will be a few months before they're ready. But yes, back up and running! :)

    best Glasscages tank ever.

at least that's what I thought you said it was...

Lol, yup! Only reason I bought it was because I saw it held water before, for an extended period of time :)

  6. I agree this tank just keeps getting better. Do you plan on adding any other fish?

I am going to add a few more, but am going to be very picky and particular to not throw off the peacefulness I have now. I have a few in mind, just a matter of finding them :)

Now that's inspirational! What's your favorite thing about your tank?

Thanks! I think my favorite thing is just watching the SPS grow-out and finally start to fill in the peaks and valleys naturally. It's also cool having half the fish occupying the tank fish that I bred and raised myself :)

    Thanks Everyone!

  7. Above comments are my thoughts. This tank is stunning. So clean, so "less is more." You let the corals speak for themselves, it's filling out beautifully. I hope to one day do something like this.

    This tank is simply A W E S O M E ..!!!! Everything about it is done extrememly well..

Great looking tank. How long have you had the sailfin?

    Thanks, All!

RJT - I've had the sailfin for about 5-6yrs

  8. I really like the anthias chromis mix, do you still have all the clowns in their as well?

Thanks, yeah me too. Yeah, I think there are 19 clowns in there, something like that :) their nem moved under and on the side of the middle rock, which is probably why you don't see them in the FTS. It's hard to get ~40 fish to all come out at once to smile for the camera :)

  9. looking sweet! congrats. I need to come over and do a little shopping!

Thanks, Bob! Come shop anytime :)

I normally think the BB look like they are unfinished for some reason....but this tank looks just perfect to me..I was going to put in larger grain sand that doesn't blow around or a blend of fine and large to try to keep the sand anchored while still allowing some serious flow....but Anthony's tank is making me question that....I wonder if I have a sand dependency lol...

Thanks again! I will also say it is so much easier to clean detritus out no, because it will vortex into little piles that are easily siphoned out. The one downside for me right now is not being able to have particular wrasses that require a sandbed. I've thought of adding a little tub of sand under a rock, but then it will just get flicked or blown out. I know that you sometimes can get away with bare bottom and they will just sleep tucked under a rock, but I don't want to take the chance and stress anything out.

  10. Anthony this tank is simply stunning.....as I was reading through each time I came to a new page with pictures I took mental bets as to whether or not there would be sand LOL...i couldn't agree with myself as to whether there should be an inch in there or not....how are you liking the bare bottom?

Great job and please keep the pics coming...I am setting up a 180 now and only can wish it comes out half as great as this....

Thanks! Yeah, I don't regret going bare bottom especially with SPS, which has allowed me to be able to turn all pumps full blast without the worry of sand blowing around. However, I can't say that I don't still contemplate throwing some sand in there, as I do miss the look. Best of luck with the 180!!

  11. dude... seriously... this tank is awesome. I love that blue bottom brush. What size was that when you got it and what is the growth like?

Thanks! That is actually Hawkins Echanata that I got from Bob (Rocko) about 1.5yrs ago as a single .75" branch frag, now a little under the size of a tennis ball! It would be larger, but it got stressed out during all the transitions from different systems while setting up the 330.

This tank is an inspiration - please keep the pics coming! absolute eye candy.

    Thanks, Omair!
