Sorry to here about this, but if you're like the rest of us. It'll just be a break from the obsession. -

+1 on the RTN. I too got a blue acro about 3 weeks ago and after about a week showed the same signs. I did a betadine dip and placed it back in the tank. 2 weeks later it is getting it's color back, but still has a 1/3 tissue loss. better than the 1/2 to 3/4 loss it had 2 weeks ago. Getting better every day.

I have a set of 5 of them. Never set my controler to use the moon cycle mode. I just have them come on when everything else goes out at night. Just have the aqua III controler power up the 12v. to the luner controler about a minute before you have your aqua III or apex turn them on. Mine never did work untill I did this. Been working for about three years now without an issue.

I'm still running a 90g. cichlid tank. Had it for about 10 years now. Let me know if you want any neolamprologus brichardi, I've got them breading like rabbits. Just PM me.

Thanks for everyones input. the purple tang shows no sings of ich anymore, It's was only in the evening on his tail fin and there was alot particules floating around in the tank that evening. I am unsure if it was ich at all. The angel is in the middle of changing from a juvenile to an adult, the specks on him do not appear to be on the outside. The specks look like they're under the skin. His color is off and changing at this time with other splotches. I do have garlic for a food supplement so just in case it looks like all the fish are going to have bad breath for the next month.

Has anyone used Metronidazole?

I hope I'm wrong, but it looks like my purple tang and emperor angel may have ich. The emperor's tail and side fins appear to have sign of ich. Some on the tail fin of the purple. Is there a way to treat without getting them out of the display tank. It's a 150 with over 300lbs. of rock and multiple large colinies of coral. I don't have a trap, just nets. Any advise would be helpful. Mike

It all depends on your personal perferance. I do like the black back and black sand look, but it doesn't necessarily look natural. Bottom line is: What is your goal? look natural, easy maintance, look cool.

Welcome to the family Kirk. I'm located in gainesville, alittle far from you but if you ever run into a situation where you feel a need for emergency help. Don't hesitate to ask!!! Just wait a few minutes and I'm sure you'll get quit a few people knocking on your door. Again welcome and happy reefing. Mike

Yo Dave, I'm alittle further out here, close to BRK, but if you want to bring it to me at my home, I can probably accomodate you. Just about any kind of cutting tools you could think of including a plasma cutter, and any and all welding (stick,mig,tig,oxy-acetylene). just let me know. Mike

Sounds like a nice setup there. And welcome to the family.

Better late than never. Don't know if we can wait another 2 years for the next post though. Alittle valve happy on the red line, but nice control. Keep up the good work.

I have a canopy on my salt water tank that is open on the back, don't get any bugs in there. I was concidering breaking down my 90g ciclhid tank until this past summer when the stink bugs tried to take over my home. I'd get home from work and have to spend about a half hour collecting on the average 20 bugs a day and dispose of them. One day while eating dinner, a bug landed on my plate. I was so mad I tossed the bug in the cichlid tank. Know, in the winter, I only have one or two a week show up and they go in the tank. The large fish usualy chomp them down pretty quick, then the baby fish run around the tank with the legs that are left over. Sounds barbaric, but I concider it therapy.
