  1. THese were taken with my BB, so if you want better pictures please send me a cannon or nikon :D First up a pic of the back, don't mind the green hue its the camera. Jean Claude, and percs getting in the shot My Bangii that just sits in the corner all day :( - Name is Octavius Ella my beautiful 6line
  2. the stock cup for the tunze requires you to cup the hood of the bc for it to fit in. I bought a skimmer cup for $24 from intank, it is a rectangular cup that doesn't require any hood cutting. I am running chemi-pure elite and purigen just for double filtration
  3. what I say , and :( I would stick with Instant Ocean even though they are filing for bankruptcy, but its under a title where they can still produce their products
  4. you could have stirred up the sandbed, that will release amonia among other things. You could have gotten a bad batch of salt as well. Use the same salt, mix up a gallon of it and test that. To determine the cause of this you have to systematically go through every variable
  5. Yes I know I was going to get that response. At the moment however I don't know how much use I could put the membership to since I have no clear idea of what happens lol. No car at college so I have to borrow a friends if I ever need to go out.
  6. will be updating soon... But I got denied free membership even though I am a student... I don't really have $20 for a forum membership that could better be spent on food/tank/tuition
  7. the reactor might be able to fit in chamber 1 or 3, the tunze will fit in chamber 2. You could probably hang the reactor as well
  8. the tunze 9002 is great, I run it with a modified skimmer cup to fit into my bc29 hood. I also run a media rack of filter floss, purigen, chemi-pure elite. I would reccomend doing both. Google intank, its a nice place to get that stuff
  9. ah yea I mean 10-20% as in total advertised volume, usually 3-6gal of water. thanks for the experience comment on the NT pc upgrade, I was looking at it but seems I'll just wait till I get a more stable lifestyle for the 300g tank I want
  10. yea all my paras are at 0 atm, I do 10-20% weekly water changes since the tank is such a small volume... the only thing keeping me from going sps is the lighting requirement, 72w of pc is not nearly enough lol
  11. oo i haven't seen them under acintics thats why I didn't pick up on them! I saw a frag up on ebay awhile ago around $200 :(. I can't wait for the day when I can have sps and lps in my tank :(
  12. get a refractometer, it may be $30-40 more for a base one but its much more accurate and ou don't have to worry about water temp, bubbles, loss of calibration
  13. lovin the zoo and acan garden!!! Have you seen rainbow aussie acans yet?
  14. thanks:) I just applied for membership earlier today. I am hoping to get it free since I am a student at a local University. I hope to start proping corals and this looks like the place to buy/sell/trade locally and help increase the beauty of everyones tanks
  15. they need a sandbed with a big footprint, bulldoze as said, and they get to grow big!!!!
  16. It was $220 for the tank, stand, testing chems, food. I have spent another $500 on the other essentials, tunze9002 skimmer, powerhead, new heater, refractometer, etc. The chemi-pure has worked wonders for water quality! I'll take a picture of my back chamber soon. I need to do another WC tomorrow and I will take another pic. Rockscape has changed slightly. I'll only go with zoas for now because I've read they are easy to take care of but are often the first thing to open/close when water conditions change so they are good indicators. whew long post! thanks for the comments guys!

  18. Ok so I bought this tank about 2 wks ago from a guy in the VA/DC area. Needless to say it was a PIECE OR WORK. Algae and deterius everywhere! No CUC! 2 fairly large clowns! They said they had a hippo tang and a RBTA in it but both died... I could see why... I will start posting pictures of the progress I have made Also I am looking for corals now so if anyone is local and has any zoas for sale please let me know!
  19. saw a video of this guy yesterday on another forum...the creepy thing is that there is still much wierder stuff out there. Its also nice to see how different roads evolution can take when you have a different environment
  20. I won't put hermit in my ank, but I will put lots of snails! I love when my nas pop out of the sand during feedings lol
