  1. Thanks every body!! Well, that wall is full of holes, so the overflow is almost pointless. It does get some of the surface scum though. All my spare powerheads are dead, so I have to get a new one for this tank.
  2. Like above, I would let it cycle for a little while. You might be able to sneak in a small hermit to begin with though.
  3. I've often wondered about the knockoffs also. The problem with the one above is that it is too much flow for me. I would need a smaller knockoff. BTW, glad to see you're back, Sam. EDIT: Nevermind. Just saw this... link
  4. They must have cost him a fortune!
  5. Are you going to join the 12x12x12 cube contest on nano-reef?
  6. Interesting story. However, it seems like there should have been rescue divers on site for the competition.
  7. The halides look great over your tank. I like the color a lot more now!
  8. Thanks!! I want to get the tank totally under control before I throw anything major in there. I need to get another pump. Both of mine are making annoying clicking noises. I haven't tested the water yet either. However, I hope this tank will look even better once it gets some coraline and some easy corals growing.
  9. Stinks about the cracked wall. Waiting for some pics with that rock wall. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
  10. As promised, here are the pictures. I filled the tank with water and just recieved the light. It is a nova extreme 2x t5 light. It looks pretty good to me.
  11. This looks like it could get interesting. Following along!
  12. What is the stand going to be holding?
  13. Why thank you! I coated the foam with silicone and sprinkled the sand all over it. The wall and sand is in the tank and it looks good. I also have the light now and it is nice too. I'll have pictures for you guys later.
  14. I would, but I only have $25 left. Time to go find a job. No problem. I just got a photobucket account so I could upload it.
  15. Try it! It would make for a really cool display.
  16. That sucks. I have been thinking. We as aquarists understand why fish die most of the time. It is usually from disease or stress or something like that. When a fish dies out of the blue, we ask "What did I do wrong?" When we can't find anything, we are puzzled and confuzed like you. We often forget fish ,like people, only live for a certain time and then they die. Perhaps his death was a natural one.
  17. The tank does get some light from the window, but not enough to run exclusively on sunlight. I may let the sun come in through the blinds for some extra light. I am going to have 2 t5s running over it.
  18. Bought a light. It is a current nova t5 fixture. It is only a 2 bulb fixture, but I got it cheap and with extra bulbs.
  19. That's pretty cool. Now you just need a smaller ball orbiting it.
