  1. Th eDeluxe is $149 which is almost $60 more for the additional light. Is more water more important than more light? Yeah I knew clams was a reach!
  2. I am buying a nano cube for my son for Christmas and need to get it ordered. JBJ has great prices right now but the 12G has only 1 24W light. Is that enough for rics/zoa/paly clams? Tank dimensions are 11.8x13.39x11.81 Difference between the 6G and 12G is 6G is 3W per gallon and $12 cheaper. Sorry to re-ask, but I need to order!!
  3. JBJ has a great deal on their nanocubes right now. There is a 6G version with an 18W bulb for about $82 plus shipping and a 12G with 1 24W bulb for about $95 In general for that price I would go with the 12, but 2W per gallon seems very low for Coral. Opinions?
  4. I and my split personality will be there, but he doesn't take up much room.
  5. Do you have a URL for a picture of the rubbermaid stock tank...
  6. Jason, what is you pay pal? Payment Details: Will be pay pal in advance please! (It is sad to say that I don't make nearly $350 a week so I can't front that amount of money), it will be what ever your total + ($0.30 + %3) <-- pay pal fees and completely optional add $.50-.75ish to help cover the rebagging and driving I have to do, COMPLETELY OPTIONAL EXAMPLE: Say 3 rics is your purchase $21 + $0.30 + $0.64(3%) + .50 (optional) = $21.94/$22.44 (optional)
  7. Thanks everyone for the advice/ I am going to start to feed more and target feed the anem weekly. I am convinced his mouth is big enough to chow a 2" fish so if I can figure out how to get him out I may split him. Then I will post a few for sale. Eric
  8. Thanks any thoughts on other predators? I feed about a dime-sized portion of frozen food every other day. There are now a total of 6 fish in the tank. Two percs., a bi-color, two yellow tailed damsels and a bi-color. Am I under feeding? Thanks, Eric.
  9. Honestly I do not directly feed it. I feed the tank every other day and simply rely on the food to find its way to the anem. It has a live in clown, but he spends less time in the tentacles than he once did and I rarely see it bring food to the anemone. The anemone "birthed" two babies over the Summer. One is wandering in the sump and the other is now in the tank. I have mia - very sad to say a large yellow Tang (3-4"), dragon wrasse, yellow tail damsel, and now the hippo Tang. I need to figure this out since I want to keep fish in the tank. I had egg crate over the tank in the past, recently I acquired a refugium and have not recut the egg crate to fit the tank. I could divide it, but I am not sure I want 4 of these things terrorizing my corals. Not sure I can ask this here, but would anyone be interested in coming all the way up here (10 miles from Mr. Coral) to buy or trade?? Sorry no visitors b4 midnight madness my kids are young. I may be there tonight though. Pic:
  10. I would say a month. But this is not the first small fish to go missing, over the Summer three disappeared. The Tang could of jumped, but I do not think so. He was healthy, good eater.
  11. I have a pretty large spaghetti anemone (or GBTA) tentacles are over 8 inches long and the "body" is probably over 6" in width. I lost another small fish last night - hippo tang about two inches. he is not in the sump, not in the overflow, not on the floor. He was there last night. I noticed him missing when I fed the tank at 5 tonight. SO - the only think I can think at this point and I have lost other fish is the anem is eating them. A) is that possible, his mouth definitely could consume a sleeping 2" fish B) If I decide to boot him, any suggestions on how to get him out? He is attached to base rock right now. Thanks.
  12. I was just sitting here watching TV and heard a drip. On further investibation I just noted that the front right corner of my tank has a crack in the the fake wood. There is water slowly coming out of it.... and dripping. It now looks as if the front area behind the fake wood is also wet. Can I rip that stuff off and seal the leak ? I also just put a level on it, its slightly off level front to back. Tank has been up since May. Not going to be a good weekend.
  13. Yes, deep mud bed, chaeto put in on Thursday and grape caluerpa on Tuesday. The light is a bit kiltered but still shinning. I have it on for 13 hours. Added pods on Friday. Interesting... my tank is almost 6 months old, I bought it all from someone else. I have a DSB and I think all live rock with rubble in the sump. I wonder what others have...
  14. That will be my last resort. My lights on on for about 9 hours now. If I go lower my montipora retreats badly. Thanks for the advice all - I will do a phosphate check and keep checking nitrates and pull out what appears. The fuge is just starting to kick in - so hopefully that will fix it.
  15. That sums it up!! I have 4 Koralias, plus my return, plus the flow from the fuge. Unless I blast the sand into a storm I am I am not sure if I could get more flow. Do Koralia's need to be cleaned?? Thanks, Eric.
  16. Question: I have my fuge up and running and I am starting to see a fall in my nitrates My sand is 25% covered with Cyano. Should I expect this stuff to evaporate as it becomes nutrient starved, or should I pull out what is already there? My corals look much happier in just four days. One clam is open wider than ever. Thanks, Eric.
  17. Yeah, my tank is pretty full. There is really no where that they could settle w/o menacing something. That was why I left them in the ovrflow I keep heavy flow over the head of the parent because it likes to menace one of my clams.
  18. No, much longer with green neon tips. Well, they split over the summer, hung out for a week with the parent and then wandered off. They disappeared for a while and then showed up inside the overflow. I was not too concerned and they seemed happy. We lost power for a bit and they must of somehow followed the water to the sump. I am thinking about converting a 30G Tall tank to frags, but was going to try zoas in there since I only have standard FW tank lights to add at the moment...
  19. Not yet, I have not read it top to bottom but I do not think I have room for the addtional equipment. I just installed a fuge want to see what that does. Thank for the PDF. Eric.
  20. Two baby green bubble tips found their way into my sump. There is no light there, so I would imagine that they are not happy. I do not really want to move them to the main tank, their parent is a constant threat and two more might drive me crazy. What do they need for lighting/filtration? Could they go in a ten gallon? Also, how do I pry them loose?
  21. I started up a refugium with chaeto and calerpa (sp?) this week. I also bought a bag of live copepods. Do I just add the enture bag to the fuge? Add some over time? Do I turn off the fuge pump for any period of time? Thanks, Eric.
  22. Does not look good just became passed away... thanks for the advice.
  23. Yes oneside only - he does not look good right now.
