I want to get the heat and humidity out of the house.My tank is in the basement which was the coldest part of the house but is now the hottest.I am currently using a house fan to cool the tank down when needed it keep it between 78.4 and 79 usually never higher.But I am using a dehumidifier now in the basement and would like to try to stop. Just wondering what people are using .would like to vent the tank area out. What brand fans and what size duct work are you using if you have this type of system? Thanks Jim

The main reason I am asking is a friend which is the one that got me hooked and the one my wife hates lol is going to build a fish room with a larger tank he currently has a 180gallon. We are trying to make it as self sufficient as possible.I went with a kalk stirrer bur after further research was thinking more on the line of dosing with auto dosers also with a auto top off.The kalk stirrer with ATO is working fine for me at the moment but I know it will reach its limits at some point.Was also r\wondering what most people where using and why? Water test today Ph 8.18 Phos 0 KH 20dkh Ca 280 Nitrates 0 Nitrites 0 Ammonia 0 Mg 1290 I used two of the 8oz bottles of kent marine liquid calcium

Readings today Ph 8.32 Phos 0 KH 22dkh Ca 230 Nitrates 0 Nitrites 0 Ammonia 0 Now using a GSA kalk stirrer for water top off.It has been running for a few days. Will the kalk stirrer raise the calcium levels enough? If not what should I use and How fast should I raise the calcium levels? Instant Ocean is the salt I use.I think its a lack of water changes on my part have been tied up for the last few months have changed water but not like I should.I just purchased a magnesium test kit so I will know what that is shortly. Purchased a Kalk Stirrer GSA how much kalk do you put in the stirrer? Have it setup inline with the auto top off .Does the solution go bad if so how often should i check it? Thanks Jim

ph 8.02 stays pretty stable calcium is low

I need to lower my alkalinity it threw the rough 3 times what it should be. I think it was overdosed with buffer what do I need to get it back down. Thanks Jim

My wife is talking to me again we have the basement back LOL

Glass cages made the tank i bought used.I called them and they sent me some glass for the bottom of the tank and advised me how to repair it they where very helpful I let it sit for about a month then water tested for awhile.once I was confident it was holding I made new saltwater for it then started to run it with the stock tank I was using .Then when I had time to transfer everything over I did. Yes i did find Styrofoam at homedepot. They basically gave me 3-4" piece of glass to fit the whole front of the tank that I silicone in.

Well its up and running and most of everything is transferred I still need to add the sand but think everything is doing great.Thought I would post a few pics. This is the before shot and the after shots took about 8 hours to get everything swapped over still have to place some of the corals from the frag tank
