  1. So I was looking at this one and then saw from Marine Depot a different one http://www.marinedepot.com/SpectraPure_Auto_Shut_Off_Valve_Float_Kit_for_RO_Systems_Shut_Off_Valves_for_RO_DI_Water_Filter_Systems-SpectraPure-SP5131-FIRORASO-vi.html Having trouble figuring out why the one from marine Depot is so much more. The float valve looks better made, but the specs seem the same. Any reason I should consider it. I definately want the Shut off Valve because I don't want my waste water running unnecessarily.
  2. Looks like this will work for me. Apparently, I don't need to worry about pressure from the water supply since there is back pressure from the cutoff. Thanks for the info.
  3. That would work to shut off the RO water feed to the storage container. But what about the pressure valve from the water system to the RO system. Don't I need to have a cutoff for that too? I would think over time that the pressure would cause leaking. I don't see how the float attaches to the RO resevoir. I am using a 30gal plastic container to store my water. Any suggestions on that.
  4. I need to find an automatic cutoff for the water supply on my RO water resevoir. A few times I have forgotten about it and found water overflowing from the can. What I need is a setup with a float sensor that will trigger a cutoff valve to my water supply when the water level height is reached. Anyone know what is available or what might work.

  6. The frag fest was great. A big thanks to all you folks that organized it. Know it is a lot of work to put together. I learned alot. And now have faces to go along with names.

  10. How big can they get?
  11. Your clownfish lookreally happy. Anemone too!
  12. Yes, I am going to hang on to it for now. It would require a major dismantling of my reef to catch it. "MF" is great at hiding when it feels threatened. Here is a crappy pic of "MF" We have been through a lot together. Tank changes and learning curves. Another 10 years or more though. Maybe a school tank would be an option. Next time I am doing some serious aquascaping, I may decide to catch it.
  13. Man that would freak me out having sharks swimming below me. Were you snorkling off the shore or from a boat?
  14. Yah, I have had this clown for 8 years. Haven't a clue how old it was when I got it.
  15. Nice pics! Makes me want to go back to Hawaii and swim with the dolphins and turtles again.
  16. That is amazing that they live so long. I love the fireclown.
  17. Wow! I had no idea they could live that long. Thanks for the link. Interesting reading.
  18. I have had this Cinnamon Tomato clown for about 8 years. It is healthy, happy and very dominate. While I feel some attachment for it, I hve been wanting a pair of Oscellis for some time. Does anyone know what the typical life span of a clown is in captivity. I am trying to decide whether to move it on or just live with it. If it is nearing the end of its time, I will wait it out. But if it is likely to live of several more years, then I would like to find it a new home.
  19. Sounds like an ambitious project. You don't start small do you. My past experience taught me that automating as much as possible is the way to go. While it is pricey to start, it will be worth it in the long run to have consistant perameters. I love my aquacontroller. Weekly water changes of 10% is key. And use a good quality salt.
