I've used it on acrylic but be very careful as acrylic is very easy to scratch. I keep flushing the area with vinegar and use a scrubber made for acrylic.
Is vinegar safe to use for cleaning an acryllic tank ?
(obviously with the fish out, and properly rinsed afterwards)

I soak them overnight then run them briefly and dismantle them for a good cleaning.
-
I soak it in 100% vinegar since it's only 5% acetic acid (weak acid).

Very nice nano.

I received my order awhile ago and now finally posting the picture. I ordered it during the heat wave we were having. The triple bagged coral leaked but still had water in it. So far it has been doing great and expends its tentacles at night.
I expect to be ordering from them again in the future.
Discount + coupon + free shipping = good deal

Welcome Mike,
If you want the best deals for equipment they are located in the for sale/trade section of the boards. Members have access to the postings and I bet you will save even after membership fee. You can also access other discussions and group buys going on in Virginia, DC, and Maryland.
I have not heard of anyone yet to complain about their memebership.
Good luck and welcome back to the hobby.

10,000K = white light, 15,000K= light blue and 20,000 K=blue
Coral grow faster with 6500K or 10,000 K but most people don't like the look of the washed out color of just the 10,000K. They usually add antinics to add more blue and florescence.
The bluer the color the slower the growth usually. Chose the color that works for you.

Sorry Raf, last minute order. If the coral looks close to the image, I will certainly get on a group buy after he comes back from vacation with new corals.

Just put in an order!
Looking forward Sonny.

Looks great. However, you may want to put that plate on the sand since they inflate and could tear its tissue from underneth.

mix the calcium with baking soda to make calcium bi-carbonate. ?
James
That will mixture will drop out of solution. Will look like it is snowing. Read link first then search for the video. Two parts are added separately so they do not react.
Hope this help,
David

CA should be higher than 350 ppm. Need more Ca but alk should also be increased to help keep dissolved.
-
If low on cash, you can also use two-part to get the Ca and Alk where they should be.

I have to agree. Great stuff to trade with.
I think this was a great deal to grab some stuff for trading.... thanks Raf again!

Thank you Raf for getting this group buy together. I got two boxes and here they are.
Box 7741639
Box 6082737
I am happy with what I got as each box contained fish food and one metal halide bulb ( 1 Hamilton Technology 175 watt 14K and one 250 Watt 10K.) Also two 28 Watt PC 6700K( I was planning to buy one for a refug bulb).
I also got a really nice coffee table book called Secret Sea by Burt Jones and Haurine Shimlock.
If this group by comes around again I will certainly be in for a box or two again.
Now looking to trade the 250watt 10k for another 175 watt. Color or brand does not matter.

what alk kit are you using?
-
I removed mine by cutting the base with a razor blade then burning the remaining base with kalk. Then I covered the stump with a shell to block out the light. So far it has not come back.
-
Above, and have it drip into your sump so not to back-siphon. One at each end otherwise they will mix and precipitate.
-
Well... It has been 20 minutes....
Will post pics later
