  1. I was able to attach pictures but couldn't get them to show here. If anyone wants more pictures just let me know. Thanks
  2. I'll be moving soon an will be unable to take my tank with me. So up for sale it goes! It's a 90 gallon tank with a stand, lights, sump, skimmer. The tank has a deep sand bed and a ton of rock. Also currently in the tank is a pair of clowns and an royal gourami. I'm looking to sell the tank for $600. Let me know if your interested. Thanks
  3. Yeah it looks like just that corner is wet and it looks to be coming from under the molding. I thought it was condensation but there is only water present at that corner. The flow is same during the night and during the day. At first I thought one of the fish was splasht the water but sat and watched for a couple of hours and no splashing but just a drip drip every now and then. Also if I low the water lvl so that I can caulk how long till I can turn the pumps back on? Is there a special caulk I should use so I don't kill everything in the tank? Thanks
  4. OK not sure where the leak is coming from but it look like it is coming from one of the corner of my 90 just under the hood. Now how safe is it to pull off the hood drain some of the water and then re-caulk around where I think the leak is? Now this would be on the inside of the tank. Also would probably run a bead of caulk all around the out side of the trim. Also thought it was wierd that the leak only appears during the day with the lights on. At night there is no leak. I've put towels along the bottom of the stand to find out when the leak is occuring. Any help is appreciated. Thanks,
  5. Would have to get past the whole permanent numbness thing but sure a little butter and quick dip in a batter and fried might be tasty.
  6. WHOLLY smokes that is an awesome setup!!!

    Food?

Normally I'm feeding every 2-3 days. The reason I'm looking for more it that my kids left the fish out and they completely defrosted. So rather than chance refreezing and feeding it to the BTA I decided it would be best just to throw out the defrosted food and get new.

    Food?

Johnny do you happen to have any more of the individually frozen silversides (not sure they were silversides but looked the same)? I got them last time I was there and they worked great. Although my kids found them and left them out so I need to find some more before my BTA gets too hungry. Thanks, Brian
  9. RIght now I have zoas, a BTA, and some frogspawn in the 90. The reason I bring it up it that 2 of the ballasts are going in my PC lighting and I was thinking about replacing all the light at once. Right now everything is sitting under 2 150w MH and 4 24w PC lighting.
  10. Right now I have some zoas, BTA, and frogspawn. Currently they are under 2 150w MH and 3 24w PC lights. Well 2 of the ballasts for the PC lighting is dieing so thinking about replacing all the lighting at once.

  12. Just wanted to get opinions on how much light is enough and does it matter the source. I have always been told the rule of thumb is 3watts per gallon. Now I want to get some new lighting for my 90 but I see alot of lights that are 260watts total. So is that enough or does the source make a difference? Does 250w MH light put out more than say 250w of PC? Opinions welcome. Also if anyone has some light 48" lighting for sale cheap I might be interested. Thanks, Brian
  13. There are a couple of videos on the net with mantis shrimp. One I remember seeing was a large mantis shrimp against a blue crab was awesome. In the end the mantis shrimp won so I have no doubt that if it can take out a blue crab it shouldn't hae an issue with most other crabs. Is it true you shouldn't try and keep one of these in a glass tank?
  14. It's a regular hood with metal hinges mounted on the center bar to support the halide and PC lights.
  15. Yeah right now I have a couple anemones in the tank and they just don't seem happy with the light. Also I got some zoas and even at the highest part of the rock work they still seem to be stretching for more light. So really just want o make sure everything is getting enough light no matter where they are in the tank. I would like to go to T5 but not sure how to put it over my tank since the hood is there and the lighting for the MH is already attached. just want to make things happy in the tank by providing more light.
  16. In the 90 I have 2 150W MH lights and I want to try and get more light into the tank. If I want to upgrade to say 400W what would I need to do? Could I just replace the ballast for a 400W ballast and keep the same wiring? Do I need to swap out the wiring and the harness for the bulbs? Thanks
  17. Time will do many things for you that will help in the long run. Only thing I did to start the cycle in my tank was to buy 1 piece of live rock and then let it sit for 6 weeks. I got the same brown algae and it went away after a couple of weeks. Once I hit the 6 week mark and my test were all at 0 I went and got a couple of hermits and snails. Now this is in a 90 so I only got 10 at a time. Waited a week counted how many I had left and then went and got more if I still had the origianl 10. Took about 5 more weeks before I had enough snails and hermits for my tank before I added my first fish. Then I wasn't adding fish but every couple of weeks. So the best thing you can do is give your tank time. Don't rush it or you will have more problems than not. Brian
  18. I had recently picked up some frags and they are on frag disks. Just for some reason the hermits in my tank love to move the frag disks. I love a frag I got because of this so I would like to at least keep the frag disks in place until they encrust.
  19. I just got some more frags and was wondering how everyone holds down their frags. I have some hermits in my tank that love to move the frags I have now so trying to find a way to keep them in place. While at BRK I should've asked but was on a time schedule. I saw they had this kind of putty that I could put under the frag disks and was wonder if that is what others use? Thanks
  20. Well in my tank at least the tangs are the ones that swope in and try to take most of the food. What I try to do is drop a little on one side of the tank then drop some on the other. That way I know at least some of it is getting to the other fish. Also when I feed PEmysis I make sure to defrost the cubes first then use my grabber (lack of better words) to grab some, then I kind of stir a bit around so the mysis doesn't fall in clumps. Seems to help and I feel that everyone is getting enough. Although I do have a tendency to drop a little more than is needed.
  21. Definitely have to agree with the take your time route. Didn't have anything in my first SW tank for at least 3 months to make everything was cycled and ready. Then came a few snail and hermits like 10 each for the first week. At the end of that week counted how I had left then went and bought another 10 of each. Then another week after that bought 10 more. Wasn't until my 4 month that I added my first fish. I know it is hard especially since my daughter asked me everyday for 4 months when we are getting the "Nemo" fishes. Just be patient nothing worse then thinking your done with the cycle and adding fish only to see them go belly up. If you need live sand I'm in Bristow and more than willing to give you a couple cups of sand.
  22. Not sure if it would work but if your going to use 2 tanks I would "T" off the drain and have one side go to each tank. One tank would hold your skimmer, UV, Kalk and such item. The other tank would be your fuge. Each tank would have a return pump to the main tank. That way you could use each tank for a different purpose and wouldn't have to worry about remove helpful things from each tank.
  23. Glad the ASM G3 worked out for you. Cool idea adding the air stone to get better air flow. A good mod for those that don't want to get into their pumps and do mods there. Brian
  24. I plan to be there. Not sure if for the social or before but have to make my weekly trip to the store.
  25. Who knew there were that many people with that much free time and knowledge about saltwater.
