BowieReefer84 March 5, 2011 March 5, 2011 I have a diy led fixture I built. 12 white cree xp-g's and 12 blue cree xr-e's. The 1900 is higher in the tank. There are about 4" above the top of this picture to the waterline. The pocilopora shows a higher number because it is right in the center, and the two columns are towards the back. I have no optics, but the spread towards the top it not very much it does not seem. Any questions, ask! Also, opinions!

Origami March 5, 2011 March 5, 2011 Nice. Did you retrofit this into the stock biocube hood? Did you use lenses? If so, with what spread?

BowieReefer84 March 9, 2011 Author March 9, 2011 ****WHITE & BLUE PAR READINGS**** Whites: Top Center = 700 Middle Left/Right = 150 Middle Center = 380 Bottom = 140 Blues: Top Center = 600 Middle Left/Right = 100 Middle Center = 330 Bottom = 100 My whites are XP-G R5's which ARE STRONGER than the blue XR-E's. It is surprising the blues are very very close to the same par as the whites. I bet white and blue XR-E's would be equal based on my testing. If you are doing a diy go for the color you want, and do not assume you need the whites for the high PAR numbers.
