gaithersburg tap water composition

does anyone know what the composition of tap water in the gaithersburg area is? i'm thinking about getting an ro/di system and was wondering if i need the six stage

If you’re asking if they use chloramine, it isn’t listed in their filtration process or Water Quality Report (see below). I only use a 5 stage (sediment, 2x carbon, RO membrane and DI) with no issues.

If you're on WSSC, I did think they used chloramines (and switched over a decade or so ago?), and while you've got more pipes on the way, my incoming TDS a ways south is only about 180ppm.

 

My configuration is basically the same, technically 6 stages because my DI resin stages are tiny, but I do use a chloramine block as one of the carbon blocks to be sure.

Thanks all. I use tap water for my freshwater fish with Prime with no issues. So I think it should be good then for ro/di, thanks!
