mling July 10, 2021 Share July 10, 2021 Trying to grow chaeto to lower my nitrates, about 20ppm. How long do you guys leave the light for your chaeto on ? How important is total darkness?
FishingandReefing July 10, 2021 Share July 10, 2021 I had it on for 12 hours as soon as the main display lights are off to get better ph. Now I had it down to only 5 hours since it’s growing too well and suck up too much nitrates. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
mling July 10, 2021 Author Share July 10, 2021 My fuge is behind the tank so light from the chaeto gets on the back of the tank. My tank has LF in the middle so that fishes can do laps. Does it matter to the fish that they don't get any complete darkness ?
FishingandReefing July 10, 2021 Share July 10, 2021 You need to determine how much lights are shining on the chaeto. You’re welcome to show us some pictures so that anyone can make suggestions. I would say fish like us would appreciate some down time (darkness) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
