Anyone have more info on this incident or thoughts on securing your connected tank? I can see part of this is a home/business network security problem but so many of the apps and controller software I've seen seem so clunky, I can only imagine security is an afterthought for many when it comes to cloud-based security, application development, embedded software, etc.

No more info, but definitely sensitized to IA and computer/network security threats from low-cost, every-day smart appliances and how little we, as consumers, pay attention to the issue. Thanks for the link and the story. I wish that they provided at least a little more detail.
