Lighting (Metal Halide Question)

Ok,

 

I have a 400W metal halide ballast. ( I also have the vert mount and the bulb 3k) My question is. If i have the ballasts can I go buy something like this:

and wire the ballast directly to say a home depot lighting fixture you can get for regular halides? I mean the fixture mount is only holding the bulb right?

 

One more question. That I should have asked first was. Is the regular halide bulbs the same footprint as the bulb listed above?

That link is for a double ended MH bulb. If you have the ballast you can get a retrofit kit (mogul socket).

I have the mogul socket already I wanted to get the double ended MH enclosure because its smaller and then just use my ballast I have right now.

 

Is that possible? Or are the double ended MH's not worth it? Keep in mind I have a 55g setup.
