Best Chemical Filtration for Nano Reefs (w/o skimmer)

Hi all,

 

Looking for insight as to types of chemical filtration and setup folks have had best experience with on Nano reefs. I'm running a 6 gal Nano mixed reef currently with Chemipure Blue, in addition to filter floss. I do weekly ~15% water changes.

 

Specifically, really interested if anyone has been able to tell if they've had better success with Chemipure Elite, vs. the Blue version.

I’ve run a 16 gallon nano (no skimmer) for the past five years with chemipure elite, floss and water changes (20% once a month). I did try blue for a couple of months but i had been having success with elite and recall that it’s shelf life was much shorter. Hope that helps.

Thanks Jon. Did not realize the CP Blue had a shorter shelf life.

Im running Chemipure Blue in my NUVO 20 with no skimmer and no filter socks either, I just fill a section in the back with marine pure balls and I also have chaeto in one of the section.  Im doing 5g water change once a week.  Everything seem to be doing well.  Tommy
