Scoly oddity

I had this scoly in a tank that was neglected. It was on a rock that was covered in Aptasia so I decided to Break off pieces of rocks around it. When doing this I broke a large pice of the skeleton off. It very healthy now and has recovered in a weird way. The part that was ripped from the skeleton flaps in the water now and has a mouth growing on the underside. Has anyone seen anything like this?
