lawnmower blenny

I acquired this weird beautiful blenny and I noticed it is always breathing heavily with open mouth. I did saw him picking on algae, but not on frozen food or flakes yet. Is this normal behavior or should I be worried? not sure if he got burned my ammonia/nitrites during transport and acclimation.

I had one years ago. I recalled that the gills and open mouth appears as if it was breathing heavy.

I've had two lawnmower blennies before in a 75 gallon tank. They never once ate any frozen or dried food but were fat and happy. They should find enough algae and food to eat if your tank is big enough. Don't really remember seeing them breathe heavy though.
