i was in marine scene 2 years ago and they were telling me about how they were going to look at these led light fixtures and how good they were going to be. I went onto premiunaqutics today and bam there they were, these things can do all kinds of stuff go check it out. If you have herd anything about it i would like to no some info on them thanks or have seen a tank with them post a pic thanks.

What I've herd:

Positive

1 very efficient --> more light/watt

2 low heat

3 very long lifespan

Negative

1 $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

2 Can you get enough in there to get the PAR needed? ie good enough for reefs?

Idunno :why:

Yikes!

I just went to look at the web-site... did you see the prices?

My little 36" tank would be $1,784.10

I'll wait :lol2:

(edited)

i know the prices are real high but if you think about when something comes out that is new the price is high if you wait a couple of years then i bet there will be more of its kind for a cheaper price

Sounds good, but I'll have to wait for the price to drop. I am old enough to remeber when calculators cost alot and were big as note books. Now they are free, more or less.

They tried to teach me how to use a "slide-rule" in school :lol2:

I'll be watching for the price drop.

Have you noticed LEDs in tail lights and traffic signals?
