wolfman July 11, 2006 July 11, 2006 i was in marine scene 2 years ago and they were telling me about how they were going to look at these led light fixtures and how good they were going to be. I went onto premiunaqutics today and bam there they were, these things can do all kinds of stuff go check it out. Larry Grenier July 11, 2006 July 11, 2006 What I've herd: Positive 1 very efficient --> more light/watt 2 low heat 3 very long lifespan Negative 1 $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ 2 Can you get enough in there to get the PAR needed? ie good enough for reefs? Idunno Yikes! I just went to look at the web-site... did you see the prices? My little 36" tank would be $1,784.10 I'll wait
wolfman July 11, 2006 Author July 11, 2006 (edited) i know the prices are real high but if you think about when something comes out that is new the price is high if you wait a couple of years then i bet there will be more of its kind for a cheaper price Edited July 11, 2006 by wolfman

I am old enough to remeber when calculators cost alot and were big as note books. Now they are free, more or less.
Larry Grenier July 12, 2006 July 12, 2006 They tried to teach me how to use a "slide-rule" in school I'll be watching for the price drop. Have you noticed LEDs in tail lights and traffic signals?
