eddi October 29, 2002 October 29, 2002 Hello everybody, I was not able to attend the meeting last Saturday so I was hoping someone that was there would be nice enough to post a brief summary. Was it a success? How many people were there? Was there lots of exchanging or just buying from Leon? I like the informal gathering format. Any chance this can be a recurring thing even if not at a LFS all the time? Thanks, Eddi
pez October 29, 2002 October 29, 2002 Eddi, There were about 20 people there. Most people just talked with each other. I guess Leon did a fairly good business that night. We will be having these "get togethers" on a relatively regular basis. That way we can fill the gaps between regular meetings. Comments are appreciated. -Tom
Gatortailale October 29, 2002 October 29, 2002 About 15 - 20 members came to the meeting. There were some exchanges between members; some sales by Leon. Leon told me he he only got about half of what he ordered. What I saw was nice and he has decent prices on frags - $5 to $15 bucks depending on size. He has a nice selection of fish too. [He also said 5+ WAMAS members came in Friday and Saturday day and cherry picked corals before the meeting.] Future informal meetings - One scheduled for December 7 at The Reef Tank. We are in early talks with MS to try to set a date with them. We recently purchased the MACNA XIII videos for the club and will probably hold a few socials early next year at someone's house to show a few of the tapes do some trading. Craig
eddi October 29, 2002 Author October 29, 2002 Tom and Craig, thanks for the quick replies. I know there is a full meeting next month, where I plan to join WAMAS, and a social at TRF in December. I think the socials are a great thing and wanted to make sure it was going to continue. I may be interested in hosting a social at my house next year. send me a message if you decide to go that route. Eddi
