Turf Algae Useful?

I have small clumps of what I think is turf algae growing in random crevices. The tuxedo urchin keeps most of the rock sparkling clean. I can manually pull the clumps off, piece of cake. However, it seems like having some algae in the tank for the hermit crabs and clowns to snack on is a good idea. Especially since I usually skip feeding in Saturday.

 

I'm also planning on adding a pygmy angel, and I think they might eat some, too.

 

It would be easy to clean it out. I consider it a sign that there are nutrients in the tank for the coral even though the nitrates and phosphate don't register on the test kit, so I'm not unhappy. Just trying to decide whether to clean it up or not.

 

Thoughts?

Your clean up crew will eat it, but it's just putting those nutrients back into the water. If it's not growing out of control and it's not bothering you then you can just leave it.. Most people stress about every bit of algae in the tank and drive themselves mad in the process.
