does anyone have a list of stores in the area that have dry goods, like mh bulbs ballasts etc in stock.

The links section on the wamas homepage has a brief list of local stores.  The MS has MH lamps, as does The Reef Tank.  However, any LFS will be much more money than mail order.

a few local stores have some dry goods in stock.  As Pez mentioned, The Reef Tank and the Marine Scene have a limited supply in stock.  In addition, Pets Plus in Annandale, Roozen in Forth Washington and the Aquarium Center in Randallstown have a fair on hand inventory.

 

As far as prices, yes local LFS will be more than MO but you get it right away and you have don't have to ship anything back if something breaks.  It is up to you to decide if the price difference is worth it.
