Fritz0id3937 December 9, 2015 December 9, 2015 What's the best way to get bubble algae mixed with some cyano off a large colony of trumpets (soft ball size). Has a dead patch right in the center maybe the size of a silver dollar. Happened slowly after i switched to a bigger led light, i have since reduced my light schedule and stopped the slow melting. Dip? Clip? Crabs? Any advice.
Fritz0id3937 December 9, 2015 Author December 9, 2015 Thanks. I will, just been dragging my feet about pulling it out. Should I do some kind of dip after manually removing as much as I can?

Folks say "try not to pop them" but I say whatever. It's the bigger ones that have the "spreading spores." Alternativly, you could put a razor blade on the end of a siphon and as you just cut them pop them and cull them, you siphon everything out. Or, you could get a bunch of emerald crabs and wait for them to do the job. I've always had sucess with emerald crabs, but others have not been as lucky. I'm lazy, and I always have prefered the emerald crab method
