Very soon my new display will be getting plumbed with the help of an aquarium maintenance person because I have no experience hard plumbing and I'd rather not screw it up. Right now I am working on a mock up so I know what needs to be purchased; I plan to use blue sch 40 pipe and grey sch 80 fittings/valves with herbie style plumbing.

I feel there is just WAY too much different information out there about plumbing tanks, and definitely way too many confusing photos.

If possible, I would like to come see your tank in person, only if it is hard plumbed with a sump inside the stand, preferably herbie or bean animal style. I just want to see some real world examples on this and what other people have done.

Thank you so much!!

I'll be around this sunday/monday if you wantto make the treck to herndon. I have a herbie overflow.

I also suggest going to an LFS to look there. They will have lots of different examples in one place. Reef eScape down the road In Fairfax has a showroom with several tanks plumbed individually.

Hi Jessica,

My tank fits your criteria, and the plumbing is pretty darn simple and quiet.  It is a modified coast to coast, and not a Herbie, though. I will be around most of this weekend, if you want to pop down.

Thank you so much! I will PM you tonight! Good point about LFS!
