menglish September 22, 2015 Share September 22, 2015 So my Ecotech Marine battery backup I use on my MP40 is no longer holding a charge and is thus useless. Can these backup units be "fixed"? I did contact Ecotech and they said they cannot be "fixed", but I recognized they are also trying to sell me a new on. Wanted to get feed back from folks who had this issue in the past. Much thanks
gmerek2 September 22, 2015 Share September 22, 2015 I'm tired of giving ecotech all my money. Drill the rivets out Bubski. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

gmerek2 September 22, 2015 Share September 22, 2015 Yea I'm tempted to extend the wires to a larger battery. Only concern is it would be exposed and not nearly as safe
khh27 September 22, 2015 Share September 22, 2015 I don't know what battery comes with it but I would go agm or deep cycle on a new on. One that's made to be discharged past a certain point. Normal battery arnt intended to be discarged completely. They loose there holding and charging power. menglish October 4, 2015 Author Share October 4, 2015 So I was able to fix the battery Echotech backup for my MP40. I was able to drill by a replacement battery from Amazon and made the switch. This was the old battery I replaced. Note this is an 18 Ah battery. I was able to find a bigger battery, one that is 22 Ah. This was the biggest battery that would fit in the case. Its the same foot print as the one that came in the backup. However, it will give a bit more power and should last a bit longer. It cost only $40. I hooked it up and it is working fine. Thanks for the tip. Plus i save a $120. more frags
gmerek2 October 4, 2015 Share October 4, 2015 4 extra amp hours for $80 less sounds great to me. Especially in terms of 2-4 extra frags
