John Ford September 2, 2015 Share September 2, 2015 (edited) ^ +1. Those are known for their high levels of palytoxin. Just be careful, especially when fragging. Also looks like a vermetid snail on the left side. Edited September 2, 2015 by John Ford

gmerek2 September 2, 2015 Share September 2, 2015 (edited) I have noticed around 90% of tanks, fish stores etc. have the vermetid snail attached to frag plugs or somewhere in their tank. The buggers get around. The good thing is that they don't cause a huge problem very often. I would just cover the ones you find with super glue or remove from tank with bonecutter no worries mon! The less colorful palys tend to have higher concentration of the toxin. The less colorful also start to spread fast if you keep them a while so I removed mine after a year. I have seen the toxin cause problems on here a few times and it's usually from a colony of them rapidly dieing then the toxin being aerosolized by skimmer or boiling rock on stove. IMO Palys are safe and a lot of fun as long as you have the knowledge to protect yourself. Edited September 2, 2015 by gmerek2
