Larry Grenier March 30, 2006 March 30, 2006 I have the big things like snails and I've seen pods on the rocks but I need more life in the DSB. My tank has had live rock and some scoops of sand from a few other tanks for a few months now. Suggestions?

Suggestions? well you could get a sand sifting starfish, those are cool. conchs are neat as well. some gobies also hang out on the sand, but stay away from the harder to keep ones for a new tank.
steveoutlaw March 31, 2006 March 31, 2006 Nassarius snails. I have about 20 in my 65g and they love to burrow in the sand. They are great scavengers and very interesting to watch. At feeding time they will all start popping up out of the sand to get their share. Horseshoe crabs will also burrow and are interesting to watch. A queen conch is also a nice addition.
Caribbean Jake March 31, 2006 March 31, 2006 hold off on sand shifting starfish, they grow and go after astrea snails and nassarius snails to complement thei diet. been there, seen it happen. on the other hand, go with nassariuos snails, perhaps a combination of Vibex and Obsoleta that will keep your DSB clean and healthy.
