Aqua UV - 25 watt questions

I am getting ready to set this up and i have heard different trains of thought as to what pump to use.  Some people have said just use a maxi jet 1200 to power it others say more flow is needed.  

 

Aqua UV says 400 GPH so i was thinking a small ehiem compact on the lowest setting at 395 GPH

 

anyone with more sense then me have any clue as to what works better.

 

also do you need the wiper and how long can you go before you change out the bulb.

I use the mj1200 on mine. I would remove the wiper and just plug the hole. Mine started leaking after awhile and was a pain to deal with. I have not changed bulbs yet going on a year with bulb.
