SunWyrm April 30, 2015 April 30, 2015 (edited) I have a sump that I want to use in my new build, got it from someone getting out of the hobby and had it sitting around for a couple years. I can't find anything like it on the internet, anyone have any thoughts? It says Amiracle on the sides. That's not a skimmer in the middle is it? Edited April 30, 2015 by SunWyrm
dcullen April 30, 2015 April 30, 2015 Well, it was most likely sold as a "wet-dry" filter and that is indeed a skimmer. Right compartment would have been filled with "bio-balls" and topped with a drip plate. IRC the Skimmer was "air powered" utilizing a lime wood air stone to foam the column. If it holds water and fits your space, you should be able to reconfigure it for your system, perhaps relocating dividers via "dremelling" Actually if it leaks, there is glue. Good Find
YHSublime April 30, 2015 April 30, 2015 That's a cat, not a sump! Just kidding. That looks like a wet/dry, but seems like good information listed above!
SunWyrm April 30, 2015 Author April 30, 2015 Haha! She's such a camera hog. Thank you both! I can't remove the cup on top, so I'll probably end up not using the skimmer. But I cant resist using the thing itself, it has probe holders!
