epleeds April 8, 2015 Share April 8, 2015 I had one before. Kept a 1 in sand bed but had some deep pockets in the rear of the tank behind the rock work. Never had an issue.

khh27 April 8, 2015 Share April 8, 2015 They suggest 2-3" so if you have sand in your tank odd are your good.
FirstContact April 9, 2015 Author Share April 9, 2015 3" seems to be a popular depth.
khh27 April 9, 2015 Share April 9, 2015 So do coris do well with all corals? I've been thinking about a yellow coris or canary wrasse.
FirstContact April 9, 2015 Author Share April 9, 2015 They get a non-reef safe classification for eating invertebrates and generally moving anything that is not locked down as they search for food under stuff. I have a Jansens wrasse. He ate both my hermit crabs. Can't keep shrimp either, but I think it's worth it. He doesn't bother my corals in the sense that they're tasty but for the fact that he's always poking around them hunting for brittle stars and what not. FirstContact April 9, 2015 Author Share April 9, 2015 (edited) Many wrasses are classified as reef safe and some are not. You have to look them up on the web. Edited April 9, 2015 by FirstContact

RJT April 10, 2015 Share April 10, 2015 Yellow coris do not touch any type of corals in my experience
FirstContact April 10, 2015 Author Share April 10, 2015 All Coris wrasses seem to be listed as non reef safe. The canary wrasse is listed as reef safe. I think if you try a yellow gaimard coris wrasse it would be best to have a grow out tank for frags. Anything not locked down would be turned over.
