Rob A January 3, 2015 Share January 3, 2015 One of my MP-40s seized up. I think the nut that holds the prop on must have loosened up a little. I had to pry the back off. It's right at 1 year old but they are replacing the wet side for free!
Origami January 3, 2015 Share January 3, 2015 I've had that happen on my older MP40s. It happens when the magnet rubs up against the back cover of the wet side and the heat from the friction melts it. After prying the back off, the magnet should rotate still showing you that the bearing did not seize. Keep the old wet side for parts.
Rob A January 3, 2015 Author Share January 3, 2015 Yeah, the bushings are fine. The plastic magnet was "seized" or fused to the back. Unfortunately when I was trying to pull it apart I pulled on the prop and it came off, stripping the nut. They are making me send the whole thing back.
