martin February 20, 2006 February 20, 2006 What is a good/better brand of heaters. I have the Marineland ones, the redtop glass type. Not so great. My tanks are cooling and can't hold against this cold snap. They also won't keep a steady temp. No big deal with fresh water, but....marine its not so good.
lmeyer February 20, 2006 February 20, 2006 They are probably overpriced, but I use the Won Brothers Pro-Heat II Titanium heaters. They don't break (like glass heaters can) and they give you a digital readout of the water temp. You can usually find them for well below retail on e-bay.

I picked up a Jager/Ehim heater at wally's for a good price. I have liked the other Ehim products I have, he also had some Aquamedic, but I did have the money for the controller. Speaking of controller, what do you use? I'll need to take that step for temp stability soon.

ErikS February 21, 2006 February 21, 2006 Speaking of controller, what do you use? I've used a ReefKeeper & currently a Neptune system's ACIII - but that's for full tank control. I've also used a Medusa - very nice unit. Ranco also works & is much cheaper.
