kjamaya August 15, 2014 Share August 15, 2014 (edited) Sure, they are smaller, sleeker, easily controlled, but in terms of par, I got very similar readings. Edited August 15, 2014 by kjamaya
GraffitiSpotCorals September 10, 2014 Author Share September 10, 2014 I took off the 2040 and added one blue plus and one coral plus a long with a 3' reefbrite. Will update with pics soon. I just wasn't getting certain corals to color up. And the spread was not ideal. Combo is... Overdirven icecap bulbs... ATI actintic x 2 Aquablue special Coral plus (looks almost pink overdriven) Hamilton ballast Blue plus Coral plus (looks light blue) I think I will get better colors and healthier look with this option. I have the actintic on the ends which is almost over the glass, I have thought about changing to a higher par bulb but they really gI've the tank a nice color and even it out. The reefbrite is in the center. I am having fun using all t5s these days, and really like the look using two different ballasts to get different colors from the same bulbs.
