Shoelace October 21, 2013 Share October 21, 2013 Has anyone run Tunze Osmolator pump over a long distance? I am contemplating running it from another storage room behind the tank and it would be 3' up, 4' over, and 3' back down to the sump. The website says: Replacement dosing pump with low voltage 3-12V DC for osmolator, power with 4mm hose at 11V: 0.9m – 110l/h, 1.4m – 80l/h, 1.8m – 58l/h, Hmax 3.6m. 3.6m = 11.8 ft!!! This seems a little much for such a small pump.
HgrReefs October 21, 2013 Share October 21, 2013 I have the nano osmolator with this pump and it's a beast. I have it on my Solana, so it goes from the bottom of the stand and pretty much straight up to the top of the tank and into the overflow section. Probably close to 3' of head on it. That said, I feel comfortable saying it could comfortably go even higher as the water flow is strong at the height I'm running.
Marc Weaver October 22, 2013 Share October 22, 2013 When I had my 220 on the 1st floor and the topoff container in the basement it pumped up 14' vertically and 15' horizontally. Now I run it 8 feet up, 3 feet over, and 8 feet back down. I'm still on the original pump from 2 1/2 years ago.
