So I was thinking of putting this over my 72"x18"x24" tank. It will have 3x (250wMH), 4x 60" (80W) T5 actinics, 6 LEDs per MH bulb.

 

anyone use these lights before? any recommendations? I figured this would be a great All-in-one type of light. Was thinking of doing a mixed reef, sps, lps, etc. Think these lights are enough? They do sell the 3x (400wMH) version but I think that might be an overkill.

I think you will have plenty of light for SPS. I didn't have that exact fixture but I did have 3x250s and 4xT8's over my old 125g and they worked well.

Oh yeah, I remember that! were you using 14ks?

Yes, I had 14k's.

Yeah I really liked how your 14k's looked. You think the 3x (400wMH) setup would just be an overkill?

I think so unless you were going to go with 20k bulbs. You have to remember that with the 400's you could have more of a heat issue in the summer time. Plus the 400's could be too much for some LPS.

Okay, I'm sticking with the 250's. I hope to develop the first mini "Dormero Rotes Ross" 125g mixed reef tank with these lights
