It really is a weed!

I got a few frags of this acro from Micheal before he left. I think this is the one some people refer to as the "weed staghorn." Many other frags croaked during the derbesia plague, but this guy held on. Once things settled, it has started to take off.

Finally got a few minutes to take the most recent pic a few nights ago.

Early August, it's just a little green nub:

Late September, it's coloring up and getting branchy:

This week (mid-November), looking like a small colony:

It will be interesting to see how it grows from here.

Dave,

Excellent Pic's, anyone else have any time lapse pictures to post?

I'm sorry you will have to frag it so soon! Pesky, nuisance little buggers those acros are.

I'm afraid it's going to encroach on my anthelia. Does this mean you're first in line when I have to prune it?

Nice pictures.

I also got one piece from Michael back in April/May 05 nad it is slow growing. not as nice and big as yours but bulkier on my tank. Perhaps the lights play a role.

Thanks.

I would not be at all surprised if the lights made a difference. I am very happy with the growth from the XMs

I recall reading that within the same species, the heavier flow promote a denser, thicker morph. Lower flow, the opposite.

Now that I won the $100,000 question, where can I get one?
